Wendy has been in childcare for twenty years and has a level 3 childcare qualification. She joined Newlands Spring Pre-school in 2003 and became the manager in 2005. Wendy is the captain of our ship and is our anchor.
She has three adult children and is now a grandmother. She enjoys playing outside with the children in our lovely large outside areas.
Karen has been working at our pre-school since 2002 and has a Level 3 childcare qualification. She is our deputy manager and was chair-person on the committee for three years before this. Karen is the health and safety officer and also has a food and hygiene certificate.
Karen has a great and unique sense of humour and brings this to both the staff and children, brightening up our day.
Victoria has worked at the pre-school since 2004 and before that was the chair-person for three years on the committee whilst both her children attended the setting. Victoria has a level 3 qualification and is deputy manager. She is also one of the special needs coordinators.
Victoria brings her musical talents to the pre-school. She likes singing and plays the saxophone. She particularly enjoys supporting the children who have special needs and is Makaton trained. She also loves glitter and uses it at every opportunity.
Ruth has worked at Newlands Spring Pre-school since 2001. She has a level 3 qualification in childcare. Ruth is responsible for our library resources and story bags. She enjoys needlecrafts and bee-keeping. She has a keen interest in animals and the natural world, bringing this knowledge to our pre-school.
Sally has been working in a pre-school environment since 1994. She has worked in a variety of settings in different roles. Sally completed her level 3 qualification in 1998. She enjoys working with children, interacting with them to promote their development.She especially enjoys settling-in and watching quieter children grow in confidence. She has 2 grown up children and is now a grandmother.
Jill has worked at pre-school since 2007 and she has a level 3 childcare qualification. Jill likes to go outside with the children and is enthusiastic about teaching them to explore the world around them, encouraging them to discover and experience new challenges. She will often be found engaging in role play with small groups of children. She loves laughing and loves pink!
Ghada has been in childcare since 1998 and has a level 2 qualification. She is the mother of four children, which brings many skills to the pre-school. She is bilingual in Arabic and English. She enjoys her work and is often seen comforting the new children and settling them in to the pre-school routine.
Mickey joined us as our super-organised office administrator in the summer of 2008, from a background in finance. Her own children attended the setting and she loves the happy atmosphere that prevails here. Things that make her smile at the pre-school include hearing the children singing, glitter, Christmas and a tidy office! 🙂
